Blues dominating on the road, in Nashville for Game 3

Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice, including the tiebreaking goal with 3:51 left to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 victory over the Nashville Predators in Game 2 on Friday night to tie the Western Conference semifinal series. They also have never rallied from an 0-2 deficit to win a series. St. Louis should be desperate, but I think Rinne should have a stronger outing today and the Predators are playing with all the confidence in the world. And by losing faceoffs on the PK, it's allowed Nashville to spend a heavy amount of time in the Blues' zone.

After an impressive Game 2 comeback, the St. Louis Blues headed to Nashville to battle the Predators.

The blueline of St. Louis consists of veteran experience with Jay Bouwmeester and Alex Pietrangelo combined with the size of Colton Parayko. Another missed chance later in the period left the Blues with just two power play goals in 19 chances so far in the playoffs. It kind of gets you in the game. "That's basically the starting point".

So for third time in three games in the series, the Predators had the game's first goal. They also have won six straight playoff games going back to the first round last spring. "They're doing their job". Against Nashville, the duo has combined for a mere five shots on goal in three games.

The Predators took an early 1-0 lead Friday night on a James Neal score 7:49 into the first period, but the Blues answered on a power-play score by Tarasenko in the closing seconds of the period.

Congress Budget Deal Cuts Border Wall Plan Short

Going into the third period, the Predators were looking to have a two-goal margin again. After avoiding the penalty box in Game 2, aside from a coincidental minor in the third period, the Blues took a half-dozen minors on Sunday.

Oilers center Connor McDavid, who was moved to a line with Jordan Eberle and Milan Lucic in the first period, didn't see the ice after that goal.

Ellis pounced on the rebound of a Colin Wilson shot at 5:09 during a power play, slotting a wrister under Scottie Upshall and to the right of diving goalie Jake Allen for his fourth goal of the playoffs.

The onus then falls on the Blues to transition the puck up the ice using a stretch pass or a flip-out. The Blues were outshot 11-10 in the first period. Jaden Schwartz started the play with a pass that deflected off the skate of Joel Edmundson directly onto Tarasenko's stick, and he blasted a shot past goalie Pekka Rinne. You would hardly know that from the media coverage heading into the series and surrounding game one. Yeo has been very good at having his alterations work wonders on this team and they need some big ones now.

The Blues pulled Allen with 2:43 left and came agonizingly close to equalizing with 1:08 remaining, but Paul Stastny couldn't corral a loose puck at the left post with an empty net staring at him. But against an opponent which stayed in control of the puck, Allen simply couldn't stop everything.
