The new wireless charging technology, developed in cooperation with British EV experts Qualcomm Technologies and fellow French firm Vedecom, has been created to rid pure-electric vehicles of their biggest drawback - the downtime required to charge them.

Renault has revealed its vision for the future of electric auto recharging.

Renault has revealed it answer to electric vehicle charging downtime, with a new system that allows wireless vehicle charging as you drive.

The breakthrough could pave the way for the building of more roads capable of charging cars, and an eventual move to other electric vehicles. The two Renault multi-purpose vans were able to charge dynamically at the same time, and could pick up charging in both directions of a 100-meter (328-foot) test track built by public-private partnership Vedecom, at Satory, Versailles in France.

The facility will be used to conduct testing that would collect data on the system's safety, ability to identify and correctly invoice vehicles, charging alignment issues and power transfer capabilities between the vehicle and the road.

Generally, the move was viewed as a merciful step forward in the justice system, a reform after decades of harsh drug prosecution. Sessions stated that the directive could interfere with the Bureau of Prisons' need to host more inmates in the future.

Cell phone processor and technology company Qualcomm Inc. has proposed another solution - EVs with small batteries that can draw their power from the electric chargers embedded in roads.

FABRIC is a €9 million project, mostly funded by the European Commission, addressing the technological feasibility, economic viability, and socio-environmental sustainability of wireless DEVC.

The dynamic charging project began in 2017, with evaluation of the system set to take place until the end of 2017 with 25 partners and nine European countries involved in the program.

The initial test had a 100-meter track set by VEDECOM and while Qualcomm and VEDECOM worked together in integrating the source part of the track, VEDECOM and Renault worked together in integrating the receiving part onto two vehicles that were used for the test.
