Melissa McCarthy, Alec Baldwin return to 'SNL'

Melissa McCarthy, Alec Baldwin return to 'SNL'

Yikes. When he gets to a matryoshka doll with Vladimir Putin on it, McCarthy's Spicer tries to hide it.

Responding to questions about Trump's state of mental health, Spicer retorted: "If he's insane, he's insane like a fox with mental problems".

But, for all the usual diversionary tactics deployed to allay the media, the beleaguered press secretary eventually cracked amid ongoing speculation from the reporters that he may lose his job. In the end, perhaps, the bar was set too high for the sketch comedy staple, that was to follow an already freaky series of news events.

Ah, the "Spicey" we all know and love.

McCarthy first appeared as Spicer back in February.

Watch the sketch that aired on Saturday.

Spicer insists that he's being honest and is simply saying what President Donald Trump is telling him. But to Baldwin's character, he was "jazz man", "OJ" and "Tupac".

The press corps began to ask Sanders if she would stay and always do their briefings before Spicer interrupted by spraying a fire extinguisher at the reporters. "Is this all over?" asks a baffled Holt. It's all over?" Then, "No, I didn't. "Nothing matters? Absolutely nothing matters anymore?"

Holt, in a rare portrayal by Weekend Update co-host Michael Che, gleaned a bombshell confession from Trump that James Comey was canned because of his investigation into the President's alleged ties to Russian Federation.

The sketch opened with Deputy White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders (played by Aidy Bryant) addressing journalists as Sean Spicer cowered in the bushes outside.

'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' Continues To Break All Box Office Records
But the Bahubali 2 fans can make merry as there is a lot more of entertainment for them coming in the form of a television series. Yesterday, the film earned more than Rs 25 crore, according to trade pundits, thereby bring the total to Rs 1,500-crore-plus.

But what if he's lying to Spicer, reporters ask.

"I'm married", Spicer protests weakly.

Most of the press corps' questions focused on the big news of the week: Comey and the FBI investigation into ties between Russian Federation and Trump campaign associates.

Spicer was hiding in the bushes to start the segment, but eventually walks in with a fire extinguisher and blasts chemicals all over a reporter's trousers.

"The only Russian thing is my dolly", Spicey says, holding the biggest doll, President Trump. SNL even posted a Spicer teaser on YouTube showing McCarthy feeling "pretty, oh so pretty" ahead of the show. Ultimately, Comey's firing is traced to "Trump's good friend" Jeff Sessions who's symbolized by Pikachu. Another questioned Spicer's trust in Trump. Driven to ease his insecurity, the press secretary leaves the briefing in search of his boss. "I swear I'll talk better".

Melissa McCarthy and Alec Baldwin embrace as Sean Spicer and President Trump at the Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey.

"Only since you started working here", Trump replies.

"I'm famous, it's OK", Baldwin said, in a reference to the leaked 2005 video where Trump said he could get away with grabbing women because he's famous.

"Is this like The Godfather when you kiss me and no-one ever sees me again?" asks Spicer. This episode has Trump being interviewed by Lester Holt (Weekend Update anchor Michael Che) as Trump continually puts more and more feet in his mouth (and it includes the now notorious eye roll that Anderson Cooper just couldn't resist doing as he listened to Kellyanne Conway earlier this week).

Unlike previous skits involving Spicer, the show manages to show some empathy towards the embattled press secretary, who at one point is so depressed at the thought of being replaced he plucks a piece of used chewing gum off the ground and shoves it into his mouth.
