Amazon Echo Show Is Available for Pre-Order Now

The Amazon Echo Show has been unveiled, and the drool worthy new device is boasting some epic features.

On that note, this new appliance can make voice and video calls, with the important caveat that it only works with other Alexa-powered products.

Unlike its round predecessors, the new Echo Show is angular.

Amazon is making headlines with its new Echo devices this week, but if you don't have the money to splurge on Amazon's new toys, there's good news.

With the 7-inch screen, users can video chat with family and friends and pull up photos, YouTube videos, song lyrics and shopping lists.

UK police say Assange still faces arrest
The Swedish Prosecution Authority said in a statement Friday that Marianne Ny "has chose to discontinue the investigation". British police said before the announcement that Assange is still wanted in Britain for jumping bail.

Amazon Echo Show is up for pre-order now and ships June 28. The new feature will not support calls to any landlines, or smartphones that don't have the Alexa app. For example, owners away from home can use the Alexa App to make a quick call or send a message to their family's Echo. And if your contact has another Echo device with a camera, you'll be able to do video calling as well.

Prices for the Echo Show start at $229.99 (£178) and the device will be available in the U.S. on 28 June.

Though if the speakers are cute, the eight microphones the Echo Show is connected to uses "beam-forming technology" and "noise cancellation" to hear you no matter where in the house you are, even if music is playing. However after a few days of silence, Amazon has now announced this gen-next device as the Amazon Echo Show.

This is an important capability, and it better positions the Alexa platform, already the digital assistant market leader, to compete with rivals such as Apple Siri, Google Assistant, and Microsoft Cortana. The device allows people to use their voice, and Amazon's voice assistant Alexa, to get answers to questions, turn on lights, order goods from Amazon.com, and request an Uber vehicle for pickup.
