Terry mulls retirement after Sunderland match

Chelsea icon John Terry scored in what is likely to be his penultimate game for the newly-crowned champions and suggested unless a good offer came along he might retire after Sunday's final Premier League match.

The Chelsea captain, who has barely featured in the league this season, rolled back the years as he reacted quickest to steer a loose ball beyond Heurelho Gomes.

John Terry also scored in a rare start but two defensive lapses from the 22-year Chelsea man almost allowed Watford to salvage a draw before Fabregas' late victor.

Chelsea defender David Luiz accepted he would be a "liar" to say he was ignoring the prospect of winning a Premier League and FA Cup "Double" with the Blues.

Indeed, Willian finished up with the most chances created, successful dribbles, accurate crosses and touches of the ball of any Chelsea player and his vast contribution finally told at the end as he set up Fabregas for the 88th-minute victor.

The victory against Watford means that Chelsea are now just a win away from recording 30 league victories this season, the first time such a feat will have been achieved in a 38-game campaign in the top flight.

"There were a lot of frustrations, but this is a big club, with a lot of good players", Batshuayi told The Guardian. "And the manager made that clear to me".

"What an unbelievable feeling and, believe me, it just gets better and better", he wrote in his programme notes for the Watford match.

Conte hinted that Terry was unlikely to start Chelsea's final league game of the season on Sunday against already relegated Sunderland as the coach said he wanted to get his FA Cup final team ready and playing ahead of the May 27 showdown against Arsenal. He said that he did not want to be someone blocking a younger player's progress.

Conte said: "I'm very angry with him, because he must think to share".

"It will be a hard game against a fantastic team, so we need to be at a high level". "But, for sure, I have to pick the players who, for me, are in better form".

"I think the last couple of weeks have been a bit more down".

Terry expects an emotional conclusion to his Chelsea career when the Blues host Sunderland on Sunday.
