Champions Trophy 2017: Pakistan vs India, final today

Champions Trophy 2017: Pakistan vs India, final today

I hate to say this but India-Pakistan games extend beyond cricket ground. And the record favours India by 13/15.

India has won the Champions Trophy twice and the Cricket World Cup twice, but never successfully defended a title.

Pakistan's rejuvenation has been built around the runs of opener Fakhar Zaman and the experienced Azhar Ali while Hasan Ali and Junaid Khan stepped up to compensate for the absence of fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who missed the semi-final with a back spasm but is expected to be fit for the final. Prior to this Champions Trophy, both India and Pakistan were pitted together in the same group in three events - 2013 Champions Trophy, 2015 World Cup and 2016 World T20.

Fans who want to watch the India vs. Pakistan cricket match either online or on television will have quite a few options to catch one of the world's biggest rivalries and possibly the most-watched game of all time.

India have owned Pakistan in global competition.

After Pakistan was thrashed by India by 124 runs two weeks ago, coach Mickey Arthur blamed "the magnitude of the occasion" for the fear his side showed.

Facts about the Champions Trophy final between India and Pakistan.

"This is a part of being an Indian cricketer".

He said India s batting order is decorated with many brilliant talents, but the Pakistan bowlers will realise the paramount importance of controlling Virat Kohli. "You can't think of those things when you step on to the field", said Kohli.

India, Pakistan wary of each other
We have practised the same way we did before previous matches and our approach hasn't changed at all", Kohli said. I think it will be a very interesting game.

De Villiers, who is now struggling with a poor run of form despite being at the helm of the number one ODI team, said that Kohli is able to cope with the extreme pressure that comes with being captain of the Indian cricket team. "That's the kind of players they have, we're quite aware of that. It's important to maintain the balance of being confident in your own skill and what you are doing as a team", he said in a sensible note.

In their opening group stage matches earlier in the tournament, India had defeated Pakistan. A final match is happening after 10 years.

"The top order of Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been remarkable, looking in total control out in the middle".

Everything comes to a standstill when India and Pakistan are involved in a cricket match.

So does this final still makes an exciting contest, without having many star or celebrated players in Pakistani the line-up?

On the eve of Sunday's high-profile rematch he also said the Birmingham encounter was an "aberration", entirely uncharacteristic these days of a team who often glory in their reputation for unpredictability.

"As I said last time, it's just another game of cricket".

"What we've produced after that doesn't come as any surprise, because that's how we trained, and that's what we worked at", Arthur told reporters at The Oval yesterday.
