Trump working to woo 'no' senators

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he is delaying a vote on a Senate health care bill while GOP leadership works toward getting enough votes. Lee was among four conservative senators who announced last week they oppose the bill's current version, and said through a spokesperson he would not vote for a crucial procedural motion allowing the Senate to begin debate on the legislation, unless it's changed.

This news comes on the heels of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report released Monday that estimates that 22 million more Americans will be uninsured by the end of the next 10 years under the Senate Republican health care plan than under current law, with 15 million more uninsured persons in the next year alone.

The U.S. Senate plans to delay a vote on the health care proposal to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act now before the chamber following push back from Republicans in the caucus.

McConnell said Tuesday he wants to make changes to the bill and hold a vote after senators return from the July 4 holiday recess.

"Legislation of this complexity nearly always takes longer than anybody would hope", McConnell added, as GOP Senators were to meet later in the day with President Donald Trump at the White House. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Sen.

Graham is still leaning yes on voting in support of the bill. This is a postponement and there could be a vote after the Senators return from the July 4 recess.

"The Republican bill is rotten to the core", Schumer said.

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said in a statement after meeting with Trump that he was happy the vote was postponed and looks forward to working with fellow senators and the president "to finally stand up and deliver for the middle class".

OKC Thunder's Russell Westbrook Bags MVP Award
He's Golden State's best player and should earn more votes than Stephen Curry, who became the only unanimous MVP in 2016. Westbrook had a historic season this year following the departure of fellow star Kevin Durant to the Warriors.

McConnell wants to win Senate passage this week.

The CBO report says under the bill that 22 million people fewer would have insurance by 2026 than under Obamacare - one million less than the House bill's figure - but the budget deficit would be reduced.

The CBO also predicted the Senate legislation would increase consumers' out of pocket costs because standard policies would be skimpier than now offered.

Lee is one of at least five GOP senators who meant to vote against allowing the Senate's version of repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act to even be considered.

Disabled American Veterans and AMVETS also are expressing concern about the Senate legislation backed by President Donald Trump.

"It's unfortunate we have to go through this reconciliation process", Bucshon said to 93 WIBC's Tony Katz of the bill's need to replace certain portion's of Obamacare without a full repeal.

Republicans face difficulties in winning over skeptical senators, as tweaks to appease conservatives could alienate moderates, or vice versa.

Mitch McConnell's problem is that if he moves to the right, he loses the middle. They wanted more money for mental health benefits for people addicted to opioids and money for states to cover people left behind by the rollback of the Medicaid program in both the House and Senate versions. "What is this going to look like when this gets out of the next iteration?", said Peter Costa, president of trading firm Empire Executions Inc.
