Dortmund's Dembele remains suspended over missed training

After Barcelona had an offer of €100 million rejected by Borussia Dortmund the young striker was banned from training with the first team.

"Now it is not likely that there will be a transfer of our player", Dortmund said in an official statement.

Late last week, Dembele went AWOL with rumours rife that Barcelona had upped their bid for the French attacker.

In a statement to the stock market, the club said: "Borussia Dortmund has made a decision to uphold the training suspension for the player Ousmane Dembele until further notice".

Dortmund announced that no deal had been agreed and that they could not find the player.

"It was jointly decided by Hans-Joachim Watzke, Michael Zorc and Peter Bosz after the first-round victory over 1".

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that they have extended Ousmane Dembele's suspension "until further notice".

Furthermore, the Egyptian worldwide was dominant aerially and succeeded with 57% of the headed duels that he contested. Ahmed Hegazy was successful with 72% of his attempted passes against Bournemouth .

Zorc says, "Our focus is now concentrated on preparing the team for the Bundesliga opening game this coming weekend in Wolfsburg", adding, "Dembele obviously has the possibility to train individually away from the group".

"There was no sign yesterday that Dembele would not be here today".

With over two weeks left of the summer transfer window, Borussia Dortmund are now in a rather sticky situation.

It remains to be seen if Dembele will succeed in forcing through a switch to Camp Nou, Liverpool having also taken a hard-line approach to Barca's interest in Philippe Coutinho.

Speculation that a move to Barcelona was imminent soon mounted before BVB issued a statement saying a bid had been lodged by the Catalan giants but it did not meet their valuation for a player they signed from Rennes for €15m past year.
