CIO Pres. Richard Trumka latest to leave Trump's manufacturing council

When President Donald Trump announced the creation of the American Manufacturing Council in January, the White House heralded it as a gathering of "the world's most successful and creative business leaders" from whom the president would seek guidance on "how best to promote job growth and get Americans back to work again".

The union leader says: "We can not sit on a council for a president who tolerates bigotry and domestic terrorism". Walmart's chief executive, Doug McMillon, said before Mr. Trump's remarks on Tuesday that the president had "missed a critical opportunity to help bring our country together by unequivocally rejecting the appalling actions of white supremacists" in an email to his staff later published online.

"America's leaders must honor our fundamental values by clearly rejecting expressions of hatred, bigotry and group supremacy, which run counter to the American ideal that all people are created equal", Frazier said.

"We are aware of the decisions by other members of the President's Manufacturing Council, which has yet to hold any real meeting, and are assessing our role", he continued.

The paralegal was mowed down by a auto that smashed into a group of demonstrators as they held a counterprotest to marching white supremacists.

HuffPost reached out to more than a dozen of them on Tuesday to see what they thought about the federation being a member of Trump's manufacturing council.

Verizon To Build Dedicated Network Core For Public Safety
The company also noted that states will not be expected to provide "any financial commitment to support network deployment". Some major questions remain about the interoperability of the AT&T and Verizon public safety offerings, however.

Though the president maintained that he had many other business leaders waiting in the wings to replace those who have resigned so far, no replacement appointments have been named.

A white nationalist rally in Charlottesville on Saturday had turned violent when a suspected white supremacist allegedly ploughed a auto into a group of counter-protesters, killing one woman and injuring 19 others.

The statement came less than an hour after Trump, speaking from his Fifth Ave. skyscraper in NY, drew shocked reactions when he said the groups protesting white-supremacists in Virginia on Saturday were "also very violent".

-8:14 p.m.: Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank resigns.

Plank said on Monday night that Under Armour "engages in innovation and sports, not politics". "I resigned because I want to make progress, while many in Washington seem more concerned with attacking anyone who disagrees with them". But they also said they'd stay on the council so they could advise the government on ways to strengthen manufacturing.

These executives took an important stand and did so knowing that Mr. Trump might lash out at them as he did with Mr. Frazier, who is one of the few black chief executives of Fortune 500 companies.
