'The Jetsons' live-action sitcom pilot ordered by ABC

The iconic animated sci-fi series "The Jetsons" will return as a live-action pilot and potential series.

The series, if picked up, is based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon set 100 years in the future.

Hanna-Barbera's The Jetsons first premiered in 1962 as a Sunday primetime show on ABC.

Janetti executive produces with Zemeckis and Jack Rapke, with Jackie Levine serving as co-executive producer. Spanning 24 episodes, the show followed George, Jane, Judy, Elroy, their robot maid Rosie and the family dog Astro.

South Indian acting star and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna is well known for his temper issues. Earlier, he was caught assaulting an Assistant Director on the sets of his untitled film.

"The Jetsons" is just the latest classic show to get a reboot. There was also a feature-length movie Jetsons: The Movie released in 1990, and it served as the last project in the franchise until this year's direct-to-DVD release The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania.

ABC and Warner Bros. While the cartoon envisioned a Googie-style future with flying cars and robotic household help when it premiered in 1962, the live-action sitcom promises to look at the gang "through a modern filter". This new series will be directed by Conrad Vernon, a co-director of Sausage Party.

Fans of the original series may be hoping that the classic theme song of the original series that begins with the line "meet George Jetson", will remain mostly intact. Hopefully the Jetsons being adapted for television will do much better.
