YouTube introduces 'breaking news' feed as it muscles in on Twitter's USP

Unlike most roll-outs of YouTube features, this one is not restricted to a limited audience.

YouTube has reportedly started rolling out a feature for "Breaking News" in the users' feeds.

If you're a frequent late-night YouTube watcher, there's actually a hidden dark mode you can turn on that transforms all that white into black, giving your eyes a much-needs rest and transforming your YouTube experience into something a bit more cinema like.

Good news! It seems YouTube will no longer merely serve your urges to rewatch gory Game of Thrones clips or the intro from The Real Ghostbusters, thanks to a new Breaking News carousel that looks set to serve up all manner of depressing current affairs news.

Android Police reports that it's unclear whether "Breaking News" will appear every day or just during particularly newsworthy moments in time. Users go to the site to binge watch several video contents one after another.

After a wobbly tee shot that found the rough, Stenson was able to get up and down from behind the green for the win. Stenson, a seasoned veteran at age 41, was asked about hanging with the young golfers on the PGA Tour these days.

For now, it seems that YouTube is mostly turning to traditional networks as the sources of its Breaking News segment's contents. YouTube has been serving people across the globe from 2005 with billions of videos without getting any sum in return.

While it is yet to be ascertained if the new tab is a temporary feature or here to stay, and whether it will generate its content through Google's algorithm or manually curate the same, the feature could prove to be beneficial to Gen-Z, owing to YouTube's growing popularity among them.

The new icon is similar to what would appear when you see a recommended channel.
