Britney Spears Sings Live Cover After Lip-Syncing Rumors

The star chose to put those lip syncing rumours to shame by belting out a cover of Bonnie Raitt's infamous hit Something To Talk About while performing in Las Vegas.

With a microphone in her hand, the 35-year-old diva went way off book, jabbed the media and then sang Bonnie Raitt's 1991 hit "Something to Talk About".

"A lot of people think that I don't sing live", Spears said.

"One minute they tear you down and the next minute you're on top of the world, but I've never really spoke about it", she said. And, I'm a Southern girl. "Because I'm dancing so much, um, I do have a little bit of playback, but there's a mixture of my voice and the playback".

Dressed in skimpy attire, she introduced the track by stating, "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately".

The "Piece of Me" songstress, who has slammed lip-syncing allegations in the past, made a decision to show off her vocal chops with a live rendition of an early '90s cover to surprise fans.

Most recently, prior to a July performance in Tel Aviv, Spears responded to lip-syncing rumors in an interview with an Israeli TV program, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The surprise cover, which Spears belted with bluesy aplomb, came after the Princess of Pop addressed the many ups and downs of her relationship with the press.

'I always sing live, ' she told Chicago's 103.5 Kiss FM in 2013 before the residency kicked off, adding, 'it doesn't sound so great all the time but I do my best'.

The singer's current Piece of Me Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood will be her last - she wraps up the run with a show on New Year's Eve.
