Kid Rock responds on Facebook to calls to cancel concerts

Kid Rock posted a rambling Facebook post pushing at back at critics who called him out for his support of President Trump. Or at least effective. Second step: Announce your candidacy, sort of.

Through the Kid Rock Foundation, also based in Florida, he has supported the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute for several years, including a $10,000 donation made in 2015.

Rock's Detroit residency runs from Tuesday, September 12 to Wednesday, September 20.

The Rev. Charles Williams II, Michigan's National Action Network president, issued a statement about Kid Rock's political rhetoric, calling the move to feature the musician as the opening act for the new sports arena in Detroit "the straw that broke the camel's back".

"When you hire Kid Rock, who is known to be dog-whistling and cat-calling to white supremacist organizations and the white supremacist community, alt-right, whatever you want to call them, and you take our tax dollars to do that?"

The "All Summer Long" singer, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, responded to the criticism in a long-winding Facebook post Monday.

Love him or hate him, you will never have to guess what Kid Rock is thinking.

Despite his insistence that he "love (s) black people", the singer still took shots at NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who famously kneeled during the National Anthem. He also endorsed Trump in 2016 election.

Not that home has seen a fruitful ride but this could be the break they needed before getting things back on track. David Wagner's club will be licking their chops to face a struggling West Ham , who've look bad all season.

Kid Rock, who has been feuding with Al Sharpton, was gloating Sunday over the arrest of the reverend's daughter.

The musician went further, and said that he will begin to "focus my philanthropy efforts" on organizations "besides the ones I have supported in the past".

Kaepernick, who is black, refused to stand during the national anthem while with the San Francisco 49ers a year ago in protest of police violence and social injustice.

"Pretty sure if Russell Wilson or Tom Brady were doing it they would have no problem finding a job playing for any team they wanted in the National Football League!" he raved. "So cut the bullshit!"

In response, Rock stated the following, "I am starting to see reports from the misinformed press and the fake news on how I am in violation of breaking campaign law. The account was an impersonator and Twitter has suspended that account".

He questions whether he should give his haters airtime but decides that: "I will always stand up for myself, my family, my friends, my fans, my city, my state, my country and the good in human nature!"

Little Caesars Arena has defended hiring Kid Rock for its shows. Could it work again? Identifying political enemies and attacking them ungrammatically and viciously on social media has worked before.
