Boyfriend of Savanna Greywind granted custody of baby

Matheny said DNA tests last week confirmed that he and Greywind were parents of the child.

Lafontaine-Greywind's daughter, Haisley Jo, survived the alleged murder.

Almost 2,000 people have signed a petition for the city of Fargo to condemn and demolish an apartment building that housed the couple charged with killing their neighbor last month and kidnapping her child. The suspects told police that the baby belonged to LaFontaine-Greywind.

She had gone upstairs in her north Fargo apartment building to help a neighbor who asked her to model a dress that the neighbor was sewing. "I would never keep her from them".

"It was a very attractive service befitting of Savanna".

Ashton said he was glad Haisley Jo could be there for her mother's funeral.

Ashton Matheny, boyfriend of the slain Fargo woman, Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind, now has full legal custody of their baby girl, Haisley Jo.

Greywind's family released a statement on the court's ruling that reads, "Savanna's family is enjoying a wonderful shared relationship caring for Haisley Jo and spending many attractive moments bonding with her. Haisley Jo is their little shining star". He visited her twice in a local hospital, and she was placed in his care Wednesday, Sept. 6. She told him, "This is our baby". She also claimed that LaFontaine-Greywind returned two days later to give her the newborn.

He said he took garbage bags containing bloody shoes and his bloody towels and disposed of them away from the apartment complex, according to court documents filed on Monday.

Police arrested the couple who live there - Brooke Lynn Crews, 38, and 32-year-old William Hoehn - and they were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and providing false information to police.

Crews and Hoehn are being held at the Cass County Jail in North Dakota in lieu of $2 million bail.
