No military solution to Afghan conflict: Pakistan, Turkey

Speaking to reporters today, Pakistani Prime Minister Khaqan Abbasi said his country remains interested in joint operations with the U.S. to resolve disputes over the Afghan War.

Abbasi urged the United States to show more appreciation for Pakistan's losses in war on terror and its role in hosting 3.5 million Afghan refugees.

US President's claim of doling out billions of dollars in military aid has already been put in historical perspective by our former Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan who has said that the Washington aid was not more than peanuts.

U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled his policies toward Afghanistan and South Asia last month.

Claiming that Pakistan has suffered massively from the instability in Afghanistan, PM Abbasi said the country is open to join patrols along the border as he insisted that the fencing work will continue and Islamabad would welcome a similar move by Kabul.

He said Pakistan had successfully countered the terrorism along Pak-Afghan border.

Previously, Pakistan and Afghanistan had agreed on coordinated, complementary operations on their respective sides of border. He said that Pakistan was open to bilateral verifications and joint patrols.

U.S. defends Russian Federation posts closure after Kremlin vows to sue
A senior State Department official said the USA won't speculate on whether Russian Federation will retaliate. Putin has said Russia's Foreign Ministry will file a formal request for the peacekeepers with the U.N.

"The other side is also required to address Pakistan's concerns regarding presence of terrorists, attacks on Pakistani border areas", he emphasised.

His remarks came weeks after President Donald Trump called on Pakistan to do more to eliminate militant sanctuaries, a longstanding USA demand. He said the U.S. had not clarified some of the perceptions raised in President Donald Trump's policy statement on Afghanistan and South Asia.

He said it was unfair to blame Pakistan for all the troubles in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Abbasi said Pakistan and the U.S. have a very valuable relationship since the beginning of the diplomatic ties.

But, with Beijing investing upwards of $50 billion in Pakistan as part of its One Belt One Road project, US aid has lost the sway it once held.

USA officials and independent analysts have long accused Pakistan of turning a blind eye to militants battling US forces in Afghanistan, even as it cracks down on other militant groups that target its own citizens.
