Sixteen years after the nation's deadliest terrorist attack, the relatives of those lost at the World Trade Center will gather once more at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum to honor the almost 3,000 people who were killed that day.

To this day, only 1,641 (or 60 per cent) of the 2,753 people who perished at the World Trade Centre have been positively identified, according to the medical examiner's office.

The Pentagon Memorial will also hold its anniversary commemoration and is the first national memorial dedicated to the terror attacks on 9/11.

Polished aluminum chimes ranging from 5- to 10-feet-long - each tuned for different notes - will ring from the tower, driven by the wind to produce a memorializing melody, he said.
