Air Force Drops 29-13 Contest at #7 MI

MI welcomes Air Force to the Big House for the first meeting between the two since 2012 when No. 19 MI held on to beat Air Force 31-25.

Peoples-Jones' touchdown was the first of his career.

MI head coach Jim Harbaugh was already hearing from fans about replacing quarterback Wilton Speight - this likely won't help matters.

The Air Force defense did not allow a touchdown to MI until 1:02 left in the game, as a coverage breakdown led to a 36-yard run by Karan Higdon. Karan Higdon had 12 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown. Senior Tim McVey led the attack, rushing for 98 yards on 10 carries making one touchdown.

MI wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones (9) returns a punt for a touchdown in the third quarter of an NCAA college football game against Air Force in Ann Arbor, Mich., Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017.

The Falcons quickly matched that score with a big play of their own.

TOTAL BETRAYAL: Donald Trump Reportedly Caves On Paris Climate Deal
Abandoning the accord was one of President Donald Trump's principal campaign pledges. Months later, the US and China jointly said they would sign off on the deal.

In hitting five field goals, Nordin tied a school record for field goals in a game and bumped his season total up to 11. He drilled his fifth of the game, a 36-yarder, in the opening minute of the fourth for a nine-point lead.

The two teams traded field goals in the second stanza, including a 26-yarder by Nordin followed by a 50-yarder by Strebel, once again deadlocking the count at 6-6.

Running back Chris Evans also fumbled the ball on the team's second drive of the game.

Interestingly, Air Force did not attempt a single pass during the first half - either by quarterback Arion Worthman or anyone else.

MI looking nothing like the #7 team in the country (even in a winning effort against Air Force at home). They lost to Utah in 2008 when the Utes were still in the MWC.

Air Force hasn't taken the field since a 62-0 beatdown over VMI on September 2. The Falcons' six-game winning streak against nonconference opponents was snapped. MI is 8-0 in nonconference games and 15-2 at home under coach Jim Harbaugh.
