Juggalos, Trump Supporters, Counterprotesters to Converge on DC Saturday

Devoted fans of the hip-hop rap duo Insane Clown Posse, known as Juggalos, marched on Washington D.C. Saturday, drawing a massive crowd to the National Mall.

"(Like) other musical fan bases, the vast majority of Juggalos have nothing to do with criminal activity", the most recent legal brief said, "let alone organized crime".

Violent J told Howard Stern the gang designation means the Juggalos can get stiffer penalties for drug possession, can lose custody of their children or have probation revoked just for listening to Insane Clown Posse.

Brittany Penix, a 26-year-old Juggalo from IN, said she came "to prove we are not a gang". She said she made a decision to come to "show the fake news that there is support for our president".

March organizers also planned face painting activities and sold merchandise printed with the Insane Clown Posse logo of a man running and carrying a hatchet.

Some protesters wore T-shirts that said: "We're not PUTIN up with it!"

Scott Young, another Indiana Juggalo, said he's been pulled over because of the "hatchetman" stickers on his auto.

Insane Clown Posse, Juggalos to march on Washington to fight gang distinction

With its extravagantly dressed participants, many adorned with tattoos and piercings, the "Juggalo March" was an offbeat addition to the regular political rallies staged in the capital. But four or five days of the year, being a Juggalo makes them the king of the world and everybody loves them and Insane Clown Posse is the most popular group in the world. "What happens to Justin b-- boy Bieber's Beliebers?"

Marchers held signs that said "American Juggalo Taxpayer" and "Faygo not Fascism".

The band and its fans are staging a concert and a rally demanding the Federal Bureau of Investigation rescind its classification of Juggalos as a "loosely organized hybrid gang". "Their legal brief filed with MI court read, "(Like) other musical fan bases, the vast majority of Juggalos have nothing to do with criminal activity", a recent legal brief said, "let alone organized crime".

Though they had come to air their grievances, the protest had a festive, family feel as the fans awaited the climax of the day: A performance by Insane Clown Posse.

The move followed a string of crimes from arson to homicide that were committed by people who were identified as Juggalos over the previous five or six years.

And though organizers of MOAR say they "condemn racists of all colors and supremacy of all colors" in their mission statement, Peter Boykin, president of Gays for Trump and a speaker at the conservative rally, said in an interview with The Washington Post ahead of the event that he will speak out against what he calls "Sharia law, transgender men and women in the military and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program" in his speech. Their website said they'll "demand protection for traditional American culture". There was plenty of talk about the protest on Twitter, and tweets under the "Juggalo March" hashtag voiced support for them, along with the addition of a healthy dose of humor to the mix.
